Under the Sea

Under the Sea – IMAX 3D (narrated by Jim Carrey) – I remember how exciting the photography of those Jacque Cousteau specials on TV was.  But compared to Under The Sea, they were like playing pong compared to today’s video games.  This documentary is stunning.  It’s a color-rich, vivid spectacular of cinematography that can only happen on IMAX and using 3D technology.  For everyone who has seen movies on IMAX, you know how incredible the quality is.  Add 3D to that plus photography deeply rich in color and scope.  The pop group, America, might be right that “the ocean is a desert with its life underground,” but the pictures you’ll witness is more like utopia under water.  The fish, the mammals, and the plant life are right next to your face thanks to 3D.  Jim Carrey’s narration is calm, casual, and measured.  It is so unlike the Carrey we know that you’ll be impressed with his restraint, excellent diction, and unobtrusiveness.  When Under The Sea gets to your IMAX theater, please see this 40-minute gem.
